Updating Racer Names, Numbers or Classes

It is common for a run to start with incomplete information such as an unidentified transponder, or a vehicle number that does not match the data you started with.

RaceHero can accept mid-session updates. Just update Orbits like normal and the racer will update on the next time they pass the start/finish line. Results will also reflect the updated information.

Tip: Endurance races can add the name of the driver after a pit stop and it will be reflected in live timing. This is great for fans! We also have an API that allows these changes to be made programmatically if you have a barcode or RFID scanning system on the pit lane.

Missing a mid-session update?

RaceHero does a great job at picking up mid-session updates, but if you notice that an update was missed, you can force an upload with two simple steps.

First, from the RaceHero application connected to Orbits, choose your event and select "view event details".

Finally, select the run, merge or entry list dropdown for the information that you would like to reupload.

As an example for a Run, select "Upload > As Provisional" to re-upload the run
