Venue and Configuration Setup

In order to relate results at the same racetrack across multiple events, the RaceHero Relay requires that you configure a Venue and Configuration before you can stream live timing or upload results. This feature allows us to keep track of a racer's results for an individual configuration at facilities which can be run different directions or with different sets of corners.

When needed, the Relay will prompt you to select or create a Venue and Configuration in the RaceHero database. At the top will be the name of the facility as configured in Orbits. At the bottom is a field where you search our database to find a match (or create a new venue).  Simply type the first few letters of your track. Many permanent racetracks are in the list but you can add a new venue if needed.

In this example, we found a match for Mazda Raceway. Use the keyboard or mouse to select the correct track, or create a new venue if necessary, and then choose a configuration next.

Using the length of the track as configured in Orbits, the Relay automatically displays available matches from the RaceHero database. In this example, the 2.2-mile Full Course is a match.

At other facilities such as Virginia International Raceway, there are multiple configurations and directions. If the correct Venue Configuration is in the list, use the keyboard or mouse to select it. Otherwise, choose New Configuration and enter the appropriate details.

It's important to have the length of the track accurate as that impacts your average speeds and ability to compare results across events!

Once you click Save Venue, you should see a screen with three green boxes like the below signifying that everything is good:

You're now ready to upload previous results or start streaming live timing.
